Why 'Intrepid'?

Caroline chose the name ‘Intrepid’ for her business as in simple terms, it means ‘fearless’.

Organisations need to be fearless today if they are to achieve growth and strategic advantage in competitive global markets. They also need to ensure they have a climate and culture in which employees are encouraged to take calculated risks and embrace change: to experiment with a new product or innovate with process improvement without fear of failure. How? By letting them know that failure can sometimes be expected and is something to learn from and build on.

To reduce your team’s worry, pressure, anxiety, and stress when going through constant change, engaging them with change through strong communication is key: letting employees know why a change is being made to reduce feelings of anxiety and uncertainty, and encouraging employees to be part of the process creates buy in.

Although the majority of organisational change programmes still fail (c. 70%) – it’s possible to significantly increase your organisational prospects of success rate from 30% to nearer 80%* (McKinsey 2019) with strong consulting, strategic and people services.

Testimonials

“Caroline worked tirelessly to support me through a time-critical and important decision process, offering incredible insights based on her extensive experience. I felt like my ultimate decision was my own, but that it was made all the more confidently and assuredly as a result of the support that I received from Caroline.”

Dr Alex Hughes, Medical Doctor, Clinical Product Lead, UK

“I had the pleasure of knowing Caroline while studying an MBA at UCL. Caroline was my coach and her sessions were always insightful where I felt relief, energise, awaken or blossom [sic] with realisation and ideas.

Caroline is a very patient person who is understanding, empathetic and knowledgeable. She is able to pick up cues and identify potential barriers to bring to your attention. Deep discussion leads to action, creating outcomes you never realise are possible. My self-awareness and self-growth have increased tremendously from the various sessions with Caroline.

It is always a learning curve, as a leader, it is always good to hear constructive and insightful feedback from a neutral party on your working and leadership style. I would definitely recommend to see Caroline.”

Benenita Lim, Senior Commercial Manager, Siemens Healthineers, Germany

“I sought …coaching to gain clarity and direction in my career whilst undertaking an Executive MBA. While her extensive technical skills and career experience were immediately evident, what truly set Caroline apart was her high emotional intelligence. She guided me not just through the technicalities of my career, but also the human aspects, helping me navigate complex decisions and relationships. Caroline helped me ask the right questions about my future, provided invaluable resources, and connected me with key contacts to enhance my network. Despite not being in the same field, her insights were incredibly relevant, and I now have a clearer vision for my career trajectory and reaching my future potential.”

Dr Oshani Dissanayake (Medical Doctor and Specialist Registrar, Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Registrar. Currently: Clinical PhD Research Fellow, Imperial College, London)

"I had the pleasure of working with Caroline Egan during my MBA at UCL, where her coaching was pivotal to my personal and professional development. She offered invaluable guidance in overcoming limiting self-beliefs and gaining clarity in my career ambitions.

Caroline's supportive style, coupled with her deep understanding of cultural and workplace dynamics, particularly those in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia, brought exceptional value to our sessions. Her skill in identifying obstacles and equipping me with practical strategies for resilience and behavioural change was truly transformative.

As a result of her coaching, I developed greater self-awareness, confidence, and a clear direction for my professional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Caroline to anyone seeking thoughtful, culturally informed coaching."

Dr Khalid Alderaa (Dentist: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

"Caroline is a very special person! She genuinely cares about the people she mentors and coaches.

Through my career I have reached out to Caroline for help, advice and support on a number of occasions and she has always acted as a great sounding board, helped me think more clearly and find "my way".

Caroline is a great connector for people. She has a fantastic network of individuals who value her and are willing to help and support.

Her coaching style is well suited to both new and experienced coachees and my experience suggests she develops relationships that go beyond the 'task'."

George Argyropolous, Managing Director EMEA, CGA Strategy by Nielsen IQ, UK.

"I reached out to Caroline when I was starting a new chapter in my career and wanted some advice on Presentation and Communication skills.  I worked with Caroline briefly while she was at the Bar and have a great deal of admiration for her advocacy skills.  I hoped that Caroline would be able to leverage those skills to help me refine my own technique for communicating with clients.  Caroline immediately asked the right questions, seeking to understand my style of communication and how I wanted to portray myself in certain situations (which is often overlooked in other training).  We identified areas for improvement, and Caroline was able to provide me with a number of tools to avoid falling into the same traps in future.  Now, I am much more aware of exactly how I want to come across to clients, and, thanks to Caroline’s help, I can identify issues with my communication and address them 'on the fly', giving me confidence exactly when I need it."

Alastair Campbell, Solicitor/ Partner, boutique Law firm, London, UK

"I needed help creating a strategy (a personal brand, what companies, roles etc) for my job search and preparing for various interviews. Caroline helped me with coaching on how to approach the search and also with mock interviews. Her feedback was delivered in an authentic and empathetic way, and it was specific and clear what areas needed my focus and further development. Caroline has also helped me digest and learn from interviews I was not successful in in the past, unpicking the key learnings and what further development I needed.

Caroline is approachable and easy to talk to, which was key for me to ensure that I identified my fears and found tools and techniques to provide strength and confidence prior to each application and interview. As a result, I have transitioned from a finance role to a Commercial Director role. Caroline played a key role in my preparation for the interviews and also in ensuring my first 90 days in the role were successful (still here since 2018 with a further promotion in 2020)."

Sorina Constantinescu, Regional Director - Airline Partners Middle East, Travelport, UAE

"I had the pleasure of working with Caroline after I completed my MBA from Warwick Business School. Caroline was an amazing career coach and gave me some excellent advice and help. I had worked in professional sport for 15 years and was looking to move into management consultancy. She was great in helping me go about transitioning into a new industry. This included some one to one work on my cv, some interview techniques and advice, how to widen my network and how to find the types of jobs I was looking for. I have just started a new job as a senior consultant for a large multinational engineering firm and I definitely wouldn't have been able to get this role without Caroline's help and guidance."

Greg Garner, Senior Consultant, Strategy and Business Design , Atkins, UK

"Caroline worked with us both as a member of staff and an associate delivering a broad range of activities such as Leadership Development and Facilitation, Networking and Presentation Skills training, coaching our global students and alumni at all levels, and providing advice on international career mobility…Caroline is the ultimate professional with a strong work ethic and drive for results. She displays a perfect combination of technical abilities and interpersonal skills: she is a good listener, empathetic, a strong communicator and a life-long learner who delivers work at the highest standard. She has been instrumental to improving the job outcomes of our students...Caroline is particularly good at presenting to a large audience and designing engaging and research-based training. Our students and alumni have always rated their interactions with Caroline very highly and have repeatedly sought guidance from her as they transitioned into more senior roles."

Monica Garcia-Romero, Director, CareersPlus, Warwick Business School, UK

"When I came into contact with Caroline, my objectives were to review and think about future career options. This became very urgent during a tough time in my career where I felt lost and needed professional support and coaching. In all my conversations with Caroline she has been very empathetic, getting me to reflect on my thoughts and think clearly, keeping my spirits up yet asking me challenging questions. Having secured a new senior position, I feel more resilient and assured of my abilities going forward. All in all, I very much appreciate Caroline’s help and know that she provides quality advice and analysis during career development and transition coaching consultations."

Sanjeet Swatch, London, Senior Cloud Advisor at Nordcloud, an IBM Company

"I had the pleasure of working with Caroline on my career change following the completion of the full time MBA. I found her advice extremely valuable as she was able to break issues down into manageable action items and was extremely personable. Caroline is a great sounding board and an extremely skilled career coach."
